Job: AAT Technician Chartered Practice

AAT Accounts Technician or ACA 1-3 PQE / or Pt. Qualified, Chartered Practice, Cornwall – Devon,  14-23K. (Or QBE).

Our client a local firm of Chartered Accountants seek to find the above sort of accountant.

The position is to work in a very small new team supporting the new partner that is arriving at a later date. This an opportunity to assume higher levels of new responsibility: Learn new aspects of accounts preparation and tax matters.

This career opportunity can work either full time or possibly part-time three- four days a week.

We are seeking to find a candidate AAT, Part-Qualified ACA/ACCA; with thorough solid accountancy practice experience; finding a tax expert would be our bonus.

We would be interested in hearing from practice accountants with six months experience plus.

Team duties and jobs to learn include:-

• Company accounts preparation to manager review status;
• Supervise on larger/complex jobs;
• Client contact with straight forward matters;
• Take responsibility for planning on smaller jobs to be  reviewed by the Partner/Manager before the assignment begins;
• Obtain review comments to improve on next job;
• More complex bookkeeping;
• Sage-Line 50 knowledge to be competent in all key areas;
• Fees / budgets: Awareness of time constraints on job;
• Justification for over/under runs in own areas.

Audit

• Attendance at audit planning meetings;
• Performance and learning of all but the most complex audit areas;
• Ability to spot management letter points and suggesting appropriate responses.

Tax

• Learn or administer basic personal tax computations;
• Administer or learn about corporation tax computations;
• Administer or learn about tax investigation work.
