| Job Information | Analytical Chemistry Project Manager SWUK – Isles of Scilly – London. Our client is a new expanding Bio-Tech firm with substantial global corporate funding. They are looking to recruit a Project Manager to head the Analytical Chemistry Department situated at one of the above locations. The role involves coordinating all aspects of our growing Analytical service within a constantly changing and dynamic environment. You will need to be able to keep a clear overview of day-to-day analytical activity in support of our chemists, as well as pushing forward strategic projects. An adaptable and flexible approach is required where resourcefulness, creativity and problem solving will be a routine part of the job. Excellent communication skills are essential as in addition to supervising two analytical chemists the role will involve liaising with staff and managers from all areas within the company and with external customers and contractors. A solid background in organic chemistry is required, as well as practical experience within an analytical laboratory. Experience of running samples, maintaining and troubleshooting instruments and method development on HPLC, LCMS, GC and preparative LCMS instruments are essential, as is a sound knowledge and practical experience of 1H, 13C & 2-D NMR. Experience working within quality environments such as ISO 9001, GLP or GMP would be an advantage, as would experience of other analytical techniques such as Chiral HPLC or SFC.
