Job Information | Employment Lawyer 2-6 PQE+: You will be undertaking a varied caseload of employment work. This will include, but will not be limited to, supporting litigation matters across all levels of the tribunal process (including advocacy where appropriate), assisting on corporate transactions (including due diligence, advising on consultation exercises, and working on transaction documents) and providing ongoing HR and employment support to businesses (including advising businesses on internal processes as well as strategic employment matters). You will be expected to run your own caseload of both contentious and non-contentious matters. All members of your team are expected to build strong and effective relationships with clients, getting to know them, driving new business, and growing the profile of our client’s team. You will be required to assist the team through effective business development and support the implementation of the team’s business and marketing plans alongside the other members of the team. You will be provided with training and support to develop your knowledge and skills to the best of your ability. There will be opportunities to be actively engaged with the firm’s specialist sectors and to work closely with other teams across the firm. We are seeking to find: An Employment lawyer is expected to deal with all aspects and matters relating to the world of work covering the rights, obligations, and responsibilities with the employer-employee relationship regarding such things as wages, data protection, employment terms and conditions, working hours, maternity, paternity and parental rights, health and safety, discrimination to name but a few. An Employment Lawyer will not only represent and advise an employer but also individual employees or a group of employees. An Employment Solicitor acting on behalf of the employee/s will be responsible for obtaining information, collating that research and will then prepare all the relevant documents but will also provide advice and will handle the dispute resolution through arbitration and negotiation as well as organising any settlement agreements that are made. As our ideal candidate you will need to explain all options to employees, advising and helping them to decide on whether the case is worth taking further and explaining what will happen next. It is also the role of an Employment Lawyer to give advice against any claims to a business or institution involved and will gather information and explore HR polices focusing on all aspects of the employment agreement and carry out any negotiations with both the employer and trade unions.
