Job: Tax Manager, Chartered Practice

Our client, an Independent and growing firm of Chartered Accountants is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and technically up to date Tax Senior/Tax Manager.

You will work as head/part of their growing tax consultancy team. Ideally you will be a qualified, or near qualified, Chartered Tax Adviser or ATT.

You may possibly be working in the HMRC looking to relocate to Cornwall, Devon, Somerset or Wiltshire.

You will be currently working as a Tax Manager/Tax Specialist with a mixed tax background.

Our successful candidate will have both private and corporate experiences in the field of tax, and be able to demonstrate an interest in tax.

You will be able to advise both business professionals and ultra-high-net-worth-individuals taking all aspects of consultancy practice into consideration.

Reporting directly to the Managing Partner your role will include:

• Develop Tax Advisory projects;
• Deal with compliance process and controls;
• Consulting and develop strong relationships with HMRC and other external bodies;
• Managing the small tax-audit/accounts team working arrangements, ensuring a smooth operation;
• Providing internal tax training and updates where necessary and managing the firm’s Form 42 requirements;
• Managing corporate and business tax compliance work accurately and within time constraints;
• Manage deliver high level tax advice and develop staff working in tax;
• To assist the partners by providing technical expertise across the whole range of direct taxation, including trusts;
• Deliver highly developed tax strategies and planning to some substantial AIM listed businesses and owner managed firms;
• Oversee the Tax team internally, helping to plan work, develop and supervise staff and to deliver high level tax training;
• VAT knowledge will be beneficial;
• To undertake tax planning for ultra-high-net-worth individuals;
• To promote the firm’s tax expertise to third parties including professional contacts to expand the position of the firm in the market;
• Being responsible for a portfolio of clients including some compliance work and dealing with tax enquiries;
• Possibly a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation;
• Oversee and develop the internal young tax team;
• Writing promotional material for marketing purposes;
• To be the first point of contact for all new client enquiries.

This will be a senior position within the firm and there are genuine prospects of partnership for the successful candidate.

The final package offered is open to discussion and will depend on the level of experience and ability of the successful applicant.
