Family Lawyer – Family Panel Member – Children Panel Member – Family Partner, Lawyer or Associate. 5-20 PQE++
Salary 25-40K+ The client, a very reputable local law firm is looking to strengthen its family department with the appointment of a highly professional Senior Matrimonial Lawyer.
The recruitment assignment is succession driven and if you are successful in this appointment there may be a possible future partner opportunity.
Duties involve running your own wide-ranging large and complex caseload. Incorporating the full spectrum of family law matrimonial work including “children’s act 1989” cases and assisted advocacy.
The lawyer that our client seeks to appoint will have some experience in ancillary relief matters.
Administration of all new and existing private client files from initial instruction through to final completion.
Take a proactive and dynamic approach to obtaining new work and promoting/cross-marketing services of the department and firm to new clients. Marketing the firm when regularly attending social and business parties, PR events, press releases, and general meetings.
Additionally write articles for the local press and inform the public and clients of new regulations and happenings in family law.
Assist in managing the family department within the firm, including future strategies, recruitment and expansion plans.
Client’s work will be mainly privately funded. The clients and their work will be wide-ranging in content.
Experience in children’s work is most desirable with emphasis on HNI ancillary relief and initial family break-up, financial solutions.
Membership of “Resolution” or involvement in/with collaborative law will be viewed as a positive aspect.
Past/present involvement with mediation – managing, arranging, chairing, including communication and giving fair advice between the parties is expected.
Required experience in the following is highly desirable:
- Administration, preparation and experience of file and details for court hearings for divorce, civil partnership and dissolution;
- Article 8 checks;
- Child abduction;
- Domestic violence;
- Non-molestation orders;
- Injunctions;
- Co-habituation disputes;
- Financial provisions for initial family unit break-up;
- Inheritance disputes;
- Co-habitation disputes;
- Domestic violence injunctions;
- Co-habitation injunctions.
Keep an open door policy to all other members of the firm and its partners regarding family work knowledge will be expected.
Additionally general partnership prospects are available depending on the lawyers experience and client following.
