Our client, a major law firm with a grand office based in Devon seek to appoint the above highly skilled legal professional.

The position is based working in the Corporate and Financial Institutions Department.

This career opportunity will focus purely on complex funds work. The non-contentious funds and financial services practice focuses on the provision of advice to a wide-range of regulated businesses.

Encompassing the full range of funds work, with an increasing focus on unregulated and property funds as well as general regulatory compliance.

Our clients’ top-flight Corporate Finance practice is regarded as a specialist in this sector. The funds and financial services team also supports numerous transactions in this wide-ranging arena of business.

• Acting for an International Financial Services Group designing a cutting-edge Asset Manager Middle and Back Office support group. This project is proving vital with the new launch of substantial retail funds;
• Advising one of Europe’s major banking  groups on safe custody and client money arrangements;
• Advising many clients on the UK’s regulatory regime and the need to obtain FSA authorisation.
• Advising on applications for FSA permissions;
• Administration of corporate actions in the financial services sector. Including regulatory advice and FSA  change of control applications;
• Designing and establishing all types of fund structures, including FSA regulated funds & UCITS;
• Producing terms and conditions for investment products and services including asset management services, platforms ISA’s and SIPP’s.
• Conducting reviews on fund structures and negotiating improved terms for institutional investors;
• Advising on the structuring, implementation and distribution of structured products;
• Reviewing and drafting financial advisory network agreements and related contracts;
• Drafting retail mortgage documentation and other consumer credit products;

Ideally we are looking for expertise in Property Funds and Unregulated Funds. Experience gained at a law firm or financial institution is a recognised requirement.

The ideal applicant will have in-depth knowledge of:

• Private Equity Funds ;
• Hedge Funds;
• Possibly, Derivative Products.
